If you’re planning to travel abroad, the first thing you need is a valid Ghanaian passport. In this guide, I’ll show you the simple step-by-step process to apply without stress.

Step 1: Visit the Official Passport Website

Go to the official Ghana Passport Application Portal:

This is managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Ghana.

⚠️ Do NOT use unofficial websites.

Step 2: Choose the Type of Application

You will see two options:
• Standard Application
•Expedited (Fast Track) Application

Choose based on how urgently you need the passport.

✅ Step 3: Create an Account
• Enter your personal details
• Use a valid email address
• Create a password

Make sure your name matches your Ghana Card exactly.

Step 4: Fill the Online Form

You will be required to provide:
• Full name
• Date of birth
• Place of birth
• Parents’ details
• Occupation
• Residential address

Double-check everything before submitting.

Step 5: Make Payment

Payment can be made online using:
• Mobile Money
• Debit Card
• Other available online payment options

After payment, print your receipt.

Step 6: Book Biometric Appointment

Select a Passport Application Center near you:
• Accra
• Kumasi
• Tamale
• Takoradi
• Ho
• And other regional offices

Choose a convenient date and time.

Step 7: Go for Biometrics

On your appointment day, go with:
• Ghana Card (original + photocopy)
• Birth Certificate
• Printed application summary
• Payment receipt

They will take your fingerprints and photo.

Standard: Usually 15 days
Expedited: Faster processing

You will receive SMS or email notification when your passport is ready.
